Neurological Physiotherapy

We have two very experienced clinicians who treat a broad array of neurological conditions either seeing clients at home, in clinic or in a care setting.

Kelly Blake BSc MCSP – Specialist Neurological Community Based Physiotherapist

Kelly’s interest in treating complex neurological conditions started with her work at the very specialist Glenside Neurological Hospital treating traumatic brain injury and poly trauma. This involved complex acute rehabilitation to facilitate independent living. From this, Kelly’s broad NHS career has evolved to include working locally in community based physiotherapy teams alongside specialist nursing teams again seeking to enable recovery, functional independence, and the staying at home.

Most recently, Kelly has been working as a specialist neurological physiotherapist across South Wiltshire with the Integrated Community and Stroke Services team. Kelly has treated all manner of patients presenting with often very complicated neurological illness or disease. Rehabilitation is delivered with a goal of facilitating functional improvement to maintain and improve independence and quality of life.

Kelly has completed a Bobath module and as well as training specifically in the movement science approach to stroke rehabilitation. Kelly has undertaken training specific to neuro specialist orthotics and has completed specialist training for Motor Neurone Disease via the Motor Neuron Disease Association.

Kelly is a dedicated physiotherapist who is absolutely determined to make a real difference to those suffering from neurological conditions. She views her work as a privilege and applies herself wholeheartedly to her work both clients and their carers/relatives. Kelly seeks to support her clients holistically with the end goal of enabling them to live their lives confidently and as independently as possibly, to the best of their ability.
